Art is life and there are some
artists who truly bring the art to life. Isaac Chukwuakasiemobi Udeh is an
epitome of such young and vibrant artists. His main field of arts is painting
and he mostly paints in front of a live audience or crowd within very short
space of time and that is what has given him the spotlight he's under now.
Isaac is the first of two boys born
to Pastor Geoffrey C. Udeh (Head Pastor of Greater Destiny Worship Centre
Assemblies of God, Ablekuma) and Mrs. Betty Ewuarama Udeh, a teacher at Alpha
Beta, Educational Center, Dansoman, where he had his basic education. He read
Visual Arts at Wesley Grammar School and continued to Takoradi Technical
University where he is currently pursuing HND commercial Painting.
The live painting genius has always
loved creating things with his hands from childhood, playing with colors and
everything his hands laid on, but he describes drawing and painting as an
innate gift which he may have inherited from his mother. She loves to draw and
paint as well and she's pretty good at it.
Growing up, Isaac found himself
active in more extra-curricular activities especially in basic school. It won't
be wrong to say he found solace in arts; cadet and other extra-curricular
activities because he wasn't doing well academically. Quite unfortunately, he
would usually be part of the bottom three in class and his friends would mock
him all the time. Some of his teachers were very helpful during those tough
times and he always acknowledges them for showing love and support and
understanding his interest for the arts at that early age.
He took his passion a step further
when he entered senior high school where he had the opportunity to build his
skills. After senior high, he had to do something to help himself and to
support his family. And as they say, when you love what you do, work becomes
fun.
The rising star describes his
journey as a tough one, as everyday comes with its own challenge. He has had
the dire privilege of painting some very revered and powerful men of God like
(mention one or two), some media “big-wigs”; the likes of Bola Ray, Nana Aba
Anamoah, Mr. Ivan Kwashiga, Majid Michel and a good number of other prominent
people in society.
